- Open the PDF, or right-click one or more PDFs in File Explorer and choose Compress with AllofPDF.
- Pick a preset: maximum quality, balanced, small or extreme.
- Save the compressed copy next to the original or in a folder of your choice.
- Compare the new file size with the original and try a stronger preset if it is still too large.

How to get the smallest file
Most of a PDF's size usually comes from images, so scans compress the most and text-only documents the least. If a file is still too large, try the small preset, remove pages you do not need, or split the document into parts. Keep the original: heavy compression lowers image resolution, and that cannot be undone.

How much smaller will my PDF get?
It depends on the content. Image-heavy scans often shrink dramatically, while documents that are mostly text are already compact and change less.
Will compression make the text blurry?
No. Text and vector graphics stay sharp. Compression mainly reduces the resolution and quality of embedded images.
