How to edit a PDF with AllofPDF

Open the PDF and choose Edit in the toolbar, or press Ctrl K and type what you want, such as “remove blank pages” or “fit to A4”.
Edit content: cover old text or an image with whiteout and place replacement text or a picture, or insert images and clickable links to a web address or another page.
Use the page tools to rotate, reorder, reverse, crop or resize pages, insert or replace pages from another PDF, or print 2 to 16 pages on one sheet.
Review the preview and save as a new file. Flatten annotations and forms when you need a copy that cannot be changed.

Content, images and links

Correct text or swap an image by covering the old content with whiteout and placing new text or a picture on top. Insert images and add links to websites or to pages in the same document.

Pages and layout

N-up with 2, 4, 6, 9 or 16 pages per sheet, resize to A3, A4, A5, Letter, Legal or a custom size, insert or replace pages from another PDF, reverse the order, remove blank pages and set a background colour.

Annotations, forms and signatures

Highlights, sticky notes, shapes, stamps and free text, filling and flattening of interactive forms, and visual signatures you draw, type or add as an image.

Whiteout is not redaction

Content editing works by covering: whiteout paints over the old words and your replacement is placed on top. The original text is still inside the file and can be copied or extracted, so never use whiteout to hide confidential information. To remove names, numbers or passages for good, use Redact PDF: true redaction permanently deletes the underlying text and data. To rewrite long passages, export the PDF to Word (DOCX), edit it there and save it back as a PDF. For scanned documents, run OCR first so the text can be searched and selected.

Frequently asked questions

Is the PDF editor free?

Yes. All editing features are free, with no watermark on your output and no limit on the number or size of files.

Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?

Yes, for corrections: cover the old words with whiteout and type the replacement, or place an image. To rewrite whole paragraphs, export to DOCX, edit it in a word processor and convert it back.

Is whiteout the same as redaction?

No. Whiteout only hides content visually and the original stays in the file. Use redaction when sensitive content has to be removed permanently.

Will editing overwrite my original file?

Only if you choose to. Every command shows a preview first, and you can save the result as a new file to keep the original untouched.
